Scholarship Details

The Hungarian Government established the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education and to attract top international students from all around the world who can establish personal and professional links to Hungary while enjoying high-quality education in the heart of Europe.


General Documents Needed for Hungarian Scholarships:

A Valid passport

Academic transcripts & certificates

Proof of language proficiency (English/Hungarian)

Motivation letter

Medical certificate (sometimes)

Research proposal (for PhD)

Levels Accepted:


Undergraduate (Bachelor’s)


Master’s (One-cycle & Two-cycle)

For Bachelor’s:


High school diploma (or equivalent)

Minimum academic performance (varies by country)

Proof of English/Hungarian proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent if required)


For Master’s:

Language proficiency (depends on program)


For PhD:

STEP 1 Application process

Choose Your Program & University: Browse available courses Select 2-3 preferred programs (rank them in order of preference). Contact Potential Supervisors (For PhD Applicants): Email professors with a short research proposal (if applying for PhD). Submit requirements the Edu tours Admission team

STEP 2 Document Preparation (4-6 Months Before Deadline)

Academic Records: Get certified copies of your transcripts & diplomas (translated if not in English). Check if your country requires nostrification (degree recognition). Language Proficiency: If required, take IELTS/TOEFL (English) or Hungarian language exam (if applying for Hungarian-taught programs). Minimum scores: IELTS 6.0+ (Bachelor/Master), 6.5+ (PhD) (varies by program). Motivation Letter (1-2 Pages): Explain why you chose Hungary, your field, and future goals. Tailor it to each university/program. Letters of Recommendation (2 Required): Ask professors/employers who know you well. Provide them with your CV & research interests (if PhD). Medical Certificate: Get a general health check-up (some countries require specific forms). Passport & Photos: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 2 more years.

STEP 3 Follow-Up & Interview Preparation

We track your application status. Conducts mock interviews (if required).

STEP 4 Acceptance & Visa Processing

Once accepted, we assist with: Scholarship confirmation letter. Visa application & flight arrangements.

STEP 5 Accept the Offer & Prepare for Relocation
